Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder

Leigh Jasper is the CEO of Aconex, the world’s most widely used cloud collaboration platform for construction, engineering and infrastructure projects. Together with company co-founder Rob Phillpot, he raised A$86 million in private equity investment before listing Aconex on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) in December 2014. Prior to Aconex, Leigh was a business analyst at McKinsey & Company, where he consulted for clients in the financial services, media and information technology sectors. He is a director of the Burnet Institute, a not-for-profit organization which aims to improve health in poor and vulnerable communities in Australia and internationally through research, education and public health. Leigh holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree with First Class Honors, a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and a Diploma of Modern Languages in French from the University of Melbourne.

Rob Phillpot

Rob Phillpot

Senior Vice President, Product & Engineering and Co-Founder

Rob Phillpot is responsible for product vision, strategy and management, as well as engineering, and is an Aconex director. Together with company co-founder Leigh Jasper, he raised A$86 million in private equity investment before listing Aconex on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) in December 2014. Previously, Rob managed document control, quality and trades on a site team at Brookfield Multiplex, a leading global contracting and development firm specializing in large-scale buildings, commercial structures and infrastructure projects. It was Rob’s construction industry expertise – combined with Leigh’s consulting experience in e-commerce strategy at McKinsey – which created the Aconex cloud collaboration platform. Prior to Brookfield Multiplex, Rob was an auditor at Deloitte & Touche in Australia. He holds Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Planning and Design degrees with Honors and a Master of Building degree from the University of Melbourne.

Steve Recht

Chief Financial Officer

Steve Recht is responsible for finance and accounting operations and administration at Aconex. He has over 30 years of experience as a CEO, COO and CFO of both venture-backed private and public companies across the e-commerce, software, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), and hardware segments. As a CFO, he has led three successful initial public offering (IPOs), two mergers, and numerous venture and debt financings. Before joining Aconex in 2012, Steve was CFO of Delivery Agent, Glam Media and Shutterfly, which went public in 2006. Previously, he was COO of SkyStream Networks, CEO of Brience, and CFO of Allegis and NetGravity, which went public in 1998 and merged with Doubleclick in 1999. Steve serves on the board of directors of Sizmek and also served on the boards of Modius and Marimba. He holds an M.B.A. degree from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and an A.B. degree in Economics from Stanford University.

Paul Perrett

Chief Operating Officer

As COO, Paul Perrett is responsible for worldwide sales, service delivery and business operations. Before joining Aconex in 2007, Paul held a series of management positions in brand services, strategy and product management at Melbourne IT, a global provider of domain registration, web design, and email and web hosting services. While at Melbourne IT, he led the acquisition of two companies in New Zealand and Europe, respectively, and managed the post-acquisition integration of one company. Previously, Paul served as a consultant at L.E.K. Consulting, a global business strategy firm serving private-sector clients across multiple industry segments, as well as the public sector. His consulting practice at L.E.K. focused on near-term corporate strategy and mergers and acquisitions. Paul earned a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering degree from the University of New South Wales with First Class Honors.

Chief Technology Officer

Craig Fulton is responsible for all Aconex product engineering, cloud hosting and security functions. He joined Aconex in 2017 with more than 20 years of technology management, cloud, security, and infrastructure experience across multiple industries, including telecommunications, financial services, government, software, and digital. He was most recently at Telstra, Australia’s largest telecommunications and media company, where he held a series of executive positions in cloud solutions and delivery, including Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) engineering. Prior to Telstra, he was chief security officer at Australia Post Digital Mailbox and led technology, security and business integration programs at blue-chip companies in Australia and the U.K. He holds a Master of Science degree with Merit in Strategic Information Systems from the University of Strathclyde in Scotland, and certificates in management from the Australian Graduate School of Management and Henley Business School in the U.K. He served in the Royal Air Force for nine years.

Andrew Savitz

Chief Marketing Officer

Andrew Savitz joined Aconex in 2014 to lead the company’s global marketing program. He has more than 20 years of marketing management experience in enterprise software and cloud solutions. Previously, Andrew was vice president of worldwide marketing at KXEN, a leader in predictive analytics and cloud-based applications for big data which was acquired by SAP. Before that, at salesforce.com, he led marketing efforts for the Service Cloud customer service and support solution. He also held management positions at PeopleSoft, webMethods and Edge Dynamics, and was an equity research analyst following CRM and enterprise software at Goldman Sachs and Robertson Stephens. Andrew began his career as a consultant with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture). He has an M.B.A. degree in Finance and High Tech Strategy from the Anderson School of Management at the University of California, Los Angeles, and a B.S. in Mathematics with a specialization in Computing from the same university.

Ilona Charles

Ilona Charles

Chief People Officer

Ilona Charles is responsible for all human resources functions, including recruitment and retention, learning and development, compensation and benefits, diversity, and corporate culture. She joined Aconex in 2016 with more than 20 years of management experience in transformation, change and human resources across the telecommunications, health and financial services industries. Previously, Ilona was executive director of human resources for Telstra’s Retail division. At Telstra, she successfully completed 15 acquisitions and joint ventures for Telstra Health and established an innovative design lab for employees called Customer Central. Previously, she was group executive, people and performance, at Medibank Private and held general management positions in human resources and transformation at National Australia Bank. Ilona currently serves on the Human Resources Advisory Board of Deakin University and the Judicial Entitlements Panel for the Victorian State Government. She holds a M.B.A. degree from Swinburne University and a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Latrobe University.

Anna Gorton

General Counsel and Company Secretary

Anna Gorton is responsible for all legal and company secretarial functions at Aconex. She has been practicing law in Australia for 15 years. Prior to joining Aconex in 2016, Anna was general counsel and company secretary at SMS Management & Technology, a listed public company. Previously, she was head of legal – Australia at Carter Holt Harvey Building Supplies Group. Earlier in her career, she held various legal roles in transactional banking and finance at law firms in Australia and the U.K. Anna is a member of the Australian Corporate Lawyers Association, the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD), the Governance Institute of Australia (GIA), and the Law Institute of Victoria. She holds Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws degrees from the University of Melbourne and has been awarded GAICD and GIA certifications.

Shani Hillier

Executive General Manager, Client Services

Shani Hillier leads the client services team that provides delivery, support and training services for the Aconex customer and user network globally. She sets strategic direction to ensure that client services continuously evolves to meet the needs of a constantly changing industry. Her functional responsibilities include consulting, customer experience, helpdesk, change management, and provisioning. Shani joined Aconex as a consultant in 2003 and has progressed through a number of key roles in different geographic locations. Prior to Aconex, she worked in the engineering, construction, and oil and gas sectors, focused on project management and software implementation. She was an implementation specialist at Saipem in London, a project manager at Lendlease, and a tender coordinator and document controller at Philips in Australia.

Chris Dobbyn

Senior Vice President, Americas and Corporate Development

Chris Dobbyn joined Aconex in 2008 to create and lead the corporate development function. Since then, he has driven a number of strategic growth initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions, new product development, channel partnerships, and new market entry. Chris’s 20-year career spans a range of operating management experience in product, sales, marketing, distribution, and M&A. Prior to Aconex, he was general manager of HubOnline, which provides web design and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)-based office applications to real estate agents. Previously, Chris was general manager of products and marketing at Melbourne IT, a global provider of domain registration, web design, and email and web hosting services. He started his career at Ernst & Young, where he was audit manager for four years before moving on to management consulting at Cap Gemini. Chris is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Business degree from Ballarat University

Henry Jones

Senior Vice President, EMEA and Global Accounts

Henry Jones is senior vice president, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Global Accounts. His responsibilities include the company’s business throughout the EMEA region and account relationships with the world’s largest owners and contractors. Henry joined Aconex in 2014 with 20 years of experience in general management, sales, marketing, and business development. Previously, he was senior vice president and global head of Tech and Tech Services at Axiom Global, an alternative legal services provider. Prior to Axiom, Henry was vice president of the West Region at Satmetrix Systems, a provider of cloud-based enterprise feedback reporting solutions. Earlier in his career, he was a managing director at TARP Ltd., a customer insight research consultancy, and Asia-Pacific business development manager at London First Centre. Henry holds an M.B.A. degree from the Imperial College Business School and a Bachelor of Science degree from Edinburgh University.

Cesar Flores

Chief Operating Officer, EMEA

Cesar Flores was CEO and co-founder of Conject AG and a member of the board of directors and chief financial officer at Conject Holding GmbH, a leading cloud and mobile collaboration service provider acquired by Aconex in 2016. He is currently responsible for all Aconex operations in the regions of Europe, the Middle East and Africa. At Conject Holding, he was responsible for corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and business development. Cesar began his career as a consultant at Mercer Management Consulting, now Oliver Wyman. In this role, he implemented projects involving strategy, reorganization and cost optimization for the telecommunications, construction and financial services sectors. Cesar holds a dual degree in Spanish-German and Business Economy from ESB Business School at Reutlingen University in Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany and ICADE in Madrid, Spain.

Dr Ralf Haendl

Non-Executive Director, Europe

Dr. Ralf Haendl was CEO of Conject Holding GmbH, a leading cloud and mobile collaboration service provider in Europe and other regions, before the company’s acquisition by Aconex in 2016. At Aconex, he advises the European team on strategy and operations for the combined business. Ralf has more than 25 years of board and management experience in the global construction and real estate industries. Before joining Conject as CEO in 2013, he was a member of the executive board responsible for international business at the building and real estate consulting firm of Drees & Sommer. Ralf also was on the executive board and held senior management positions at large German construction companies such as Bilfinger, Walter Bau and Bauer, focused principally on business activities in Europe, North America and the Asia-Pacific region. He holds a doctorate degree in Business Administration from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universitaet in Munich, Germany.

Adam Lewis

Adam Lewis spent 20 years at McKinsey & Company, advising major enterprises and governments in Australia and New Zealand, Asia, Europe, and North America. A partner at the firm for 14 years, he had a wide-ranging client portfolio across the steel, mining, chemicals, retail, telecommunications, and retail banking industries. He was managing partner of McKinsey in Australia and New Zealand and a member of the firm’s Asia Council and global director-election committees. Since leaving McKinsey in 2010, Adam has established two successful advisory firms, Chop Wood Carry Water and Cast Professional Services. He serves on the advisory council of FIIG Securities. He is also chairman of Southern Innovation and Palette, and an advisor to a number of other start-up companies. Adam holds a M.B.A. degree in Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor of Engineering and Electronics degree from Curtin University of Technology.

Rosemary Hartnett

Rosemary Hartnett joined the Aconex board of directors in 2015. She is an independent director on the boards of ISPT, one of Australia’s leading property fund managers, and Wallara Australia, a community-based provider of services for people living with a disability. She chairs committees on both boards. Previously, Rosemary was chief executive officer of Housing Choices Australia and senior executive, structured property finance, at Babcock & Brown. Prior to Babcock & Brown, she held senior management positions in property and construction finance at National Australia Bank, ANZ Banking Group and Macquarie Bank. Rosemary is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and Women in Super. She holds a Bachelor of Business in Property-Valuations degree from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.

Robert Phillpot

Keith Toh

Keith Toh is a private investor and the founder and owner of Boost, a social discovery business. He is also a venture partner at Novo Tellus Capital Partners, a Singapore-based investment firm. Keith was formerly principal investor at Francisco Partners, where he focused on enterprise software and international technology investments. Prior to Francisco Partners, he was an enterprise software product lead and senior consultant at Trilogy. Keith has held research roles at Stanford University in the field of semiconductor lasers, and at the Ministry of Defense of Singapore in the fields of artificial intelligence and operations research. He holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, where he graduated with the combined faculty Deans' Award for Academic Achievement.

Paul Unruh

Paul Unruh is a senior adviser at TeleSoft Partners and serves on the boards of Symantec Corporation and Heidrick & Struggles International. He previously served on the boards of URS Corporation and Move, Inc. Paul’s 25-year career at Bechtel began in 1978, when he joined as manager of financial systems development, and culminated in 2003, when he retired as vice chairman and member of the three-person senior management group. He also served as chief financial officer, controller and treasurer at Bechtel, as well as president of Bechtel Enterprises, the project finance, development and investment arm of the company, with more than $40 billion in projects developed and financed. He was lead entrepreneur and a founding board member of Genuity, later sold to GTE, and a founding board member of InterGen, a Shell-Bechtel joint venture which grew to a multi-billion-dollar asset. He is a certified public accountant and holds M.S. and B.S.B.A. degrees in Accounting from the University of North Dakota.

Simon Yencken

Simon Yencken joined the board of directors in 2008 and served as chairman from 2011 to 2014. He is currently CEO and co-founder of Fanplayr, which enables online merchants to increase conversions by using Big Data and business intelligence. In addition to Fanplayr, Simon co-founded NextSet Software, which was acquired by Razor Risk Technologies prior to the latter’s acquisition by TMX. He served on the boards of Razor Risk Technologies and TIBCO Software, where he was also CEO of TIBCO Finance. Previously, he was managing director of Reuters Financial Enterprise Systems and a member of the Reuters Group executive committee, and earlier served as general counsel and corporate secretary of Reuters Group. Prior to Reuters, Simon was a partner in Herbert Smith Freehills, a leading law firm in Australia. He holds a Bachelor of Law degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Monash University.
